Which is better, a 1200mm or a 1400mm fan?

A 1400mm fan is better for larger rooms because it provides wider coverage and more airflow than a 1200mm fan, while a 1200mm fan is better for standard-sized rooms where a larger fan might be too powerful. The ideal fan size depends on your room’s dimensions; a 1200mm fan is suitable for rooms up to about 144-150 sq ft, and a 1400mm fan is ideal for rooms exceeding 150-200 sq ft.

Choose a 1200mm fan if:

  • Your room is small to medium-sized.
  • You want a focused, faster breeze with lower wattage.
  • You are looking for a fan that is more aesthetically pleasing for a standard room.

Choose a 1400mm fan if:

  • Your room is large, like a living room or hall.
  • You need wider air coverage and higher air delivery.
  • Your room is larger than 150 sq ft.

Key Factors to Consider:

  • Room Size: This is the primary factor. A fan that is too large for the space can be inefficient, while one that is too small will not provide enough cooling.
  • Airflow and Coverage: Larger diameter fans move a greater volume of air, providing more extensive cooling.
  • Wattage and Energy Efficiency: A 1400mm fan typically has a larger motor and will consume more power than a 1200mm fan, though BLDC fans can be a more energy-efficient option regardless of size.
  • Aesthetics: The fan should complement the room’s interior design.
